The pastures of the group properties are cultivated with high technology. These pastures have been placed on flat land, where soy and maize are cultivated – agriculture areas. The pastures are divided into smaller pickets, with electric fences and passageways, besides having mine water, served in drinking fountains. Due to such cares, the animals have a great range of food, spend little energy moving around, drink clean water, lower the stress, providing a more tender and tasteful meat.
The rotation of the animal in the pastures results in a correct management of the forage (grass).
From May to the end of October (winter), the animals that were in the summer pastures go to the areas denominated integration. These areas are the same ones where soy and wheat were planted, in which wheat is traditionally planted during winter. In the integration areas, oat, millet and ryegrass are planted – food with high nutritional value, being ryegrass considered the forage queen, due to its high production of dry matter and to its high percentage of protein and energy. The water supplied to the animals is also originated from mines, collected in reservoir, and served in drinking fountains which are spread throughout the areas. Therefore, the animals do not approach the rivers and creeks, avoiding the environmental contamination – ecologically correct management.
