The industrial crossing is nothing but the mating between animals of different breeds or genetic groups. The most used crossing in Brazil is between the Zebu breed (reproducer) and the taurine breed (bull). The greatest example of the Zebu breed is the Nellore cattle. The Limousin, Red Angus, Charoles, Aberdeen Angus, Simmental and Canchim cattle are examples of the taurine breed. E.g: A Nellore cow mates a Limousin bull. The calf born from this mating will be an animal designated half-blood Nellore and half-blood Limousin. This is a genuine example of industrial crossing.
